ATTORNEY PEDRO F. SOLER MUÑIZ RECEIVES A TRIAL LAYWER EXCELLENCE AWARD FROM THE JURY VERDICT REPORTER

On October 21, 2015 the 6th Annual JVR Awards for Trial Lawyer Excellence hosted by the Jury Verdict Reporter took place in Chicago, Illinois. Around 250 laywers and judges assisted to the award ceremony, during which trial lawyers from said city were recognized for superior outcomes and record verdicts achieved by individuals and teams of trial lawyers. Attorney Pedro F. Soler Muniz of Soler Law, PSC received an award for trial lawyer excellence from the Jury Verdict Reporter in the category for “Highest Reported Illinois Jones Act Verdict or Settlement”, among attorneys John J. Perconti, Michael F. Bonamarte IV and Margaret P. Battersby Black from Levin & Perconti and Roy C. Dripps III from Winterscheidt & Blotevegel. Attorney Soler received said award for securing a $7.5 million settlement in a personal injury Jones Act case in the state of Illinois with the aforementioned laywers.

El rotativo semanal "Caribbean Business" del 2 de marzo de 2015, Noticel del 15 de abril del 2014 y el periódico el Nuevo día del 18 de abril de 2015 han reportado que la crisis económica de la isla y los salarios más atractivos tienen a Puerto Rico al borde de una crisis de médicos, según denunciados por representantes de dicho sector.
 
Informan que los médicos están abandonando Puerto Rico en números alarmantes, a medida que la crisis del Estado libre Asociado a los obliga a buscar trabajo en otros lugares, según el Colegio de Cirujanos de Puerto Rico.
 
El 12 de abril de 2015 la Asociación Médica de Puerto Rico emitió un comunicado informando que sólo en 2014, 361 médicos dejaron al país yendo la mayoría de ellos a los Estados Unidos.
 
Casi por una unanimidad, las razones informados para dicho éxodo son la calidad de vida y las condiciones económicas.
 
Ni el Colegio de Médicos Cirujanos ni la Asociación Médica de Puerto Rico reportó en alguno de los casos que los médicos se estén yendo de Puerto Rico debido a las demandas por impericia médica.

SOLER LAW SECURES $7.5 MILLION SETTLEMENT

Attorney Pedro F. Soler-Muñiz of Soler Law, PSC along with John J. Perconti, Michael F. Bonamarte and Margaret P. Battersby Black of Levin & Perconti in Chicago and Roy Dripps of Armbruster Dripps Winterschweidt & Blotevogel LLC in Alton, Illinois were successful in securing a $7.5 million settlement for one of their clients in a personal injury Jones Act case in Illinois. The particulars of the case and the identity of the parties remain confidential.
